Mohebi Logistics extends reach into fashion and fashion accessories

Initiative is setting up regional distribution hub for Monsoon in partnership with Chinese power house Li & Fung

Mohebi Logistics has partnered with LF Logistics, a subsidiary of Li & Fung, one of the world’s leading consumer goods sourcing and logistics companies.

Following the partnership agreement signed with LF Logistics, Mohebi Logistics is adding yet another string to its bow – this time in the field of fashion goods and fashion accessories.

Monsoon shops are expanding into the Middle East and will use Mohebi Logistics’ warehousing and distribution services to achieve this. Additionally. Monsoon will use Mohebi’s specialist added-value services such as pricing, label sewing and promotional packaging.

Taking on a new market sector

For Mohebi Logistics, the opportunity presented by the Monsoon contract opens the way to an even closer relationship with local consumers, catering not only to their food but also their fashion tastes.

After goods received from LF and Monsoon consolidation centres around the world they will be carefully inspected according to Monsoon’s high safety and quality standards. The goods will then be picked by an individual store with any necessary value-added services supplied. Mohebi Logistics will undertake all order consolidation and regional shipments.

“This is a new vertical sector for us and we’ve invested heavily to ensure that our new partners LF and our customer Monsoon benefit from the best possible service. We plan ambitious growth here,” says Phil Showering COO.

Those investments include Infor 10 software from SNS, the leading WMS provider in the region, and the tracking of all goods via RF scans as they make their way past every station within the Delivery Centre.

Since the Monsoon brand was launched in 1973 in the UK it has grown to over 400 outlets in the UK and over 1000 outlets worldwide. The focus is on clothes with an ethnic origin from faraway places such as India and Afghanistan. In the early 1980s, Monsoon started to sell a small collection of fashion accessories. Monsoon Accessorize started with one store in London’s Covent Garden in 1984 and now boasts over 800 stores worldwide.
